Early Bird Studio Advanced Yoga Studio Practice: (Thursdays only) - in our private dedicated yoga studio, 33 Clarence Street, Devonport (BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL: please book via 'bookings' tab above) Aims A yoga practice that is for those wanting to make a commitment towards achieving enhanced health and comfort in the body and mind. By facilitating this practice I hope to enable you to experience comfort in your body, and through awareness and meditation practices, to experience consciousness in the absence of thought so that you identify less with your mind as representing who you are in essence. This will free you from the demands of the mind so that you are able to relax into the flow and randomness of everything as you calmly fulfill your destiny. 1 hour of flowing stretches with breath awareness, followed by 30 minutes of relaxation, pranayama (breathing practices), and meditation. With an attitude of acceptance, these sessions will leave you feeling calm and refreshed. They involve standing, sitting, kneeling and lying on the floor. There is no pressure to 'keep up' you can choose what parts you want to do or leave out and take your time to get more and more proficient as the weeks go by.. 'Stretch Breathe Meditate Chair Yoga' (Tuesdays) - Devonport Community House, 32 Clarence Street Available during school terms only - Term 1 started 09 Feb but come along any time, it's not a course We use chairs and alternate between gentle standing exercises and sitting for more exercises, and to practice breathing and awareness techniques. Please bring a cushion to sit on, or to put behind your back. Please book to ensure your space - you can start any time. Private Yoga Classes - in our dedicated yoga studio, 33 Clarence Street. Classes that are appropriate for wherever you are on your yoga journey: from beginners to advanced. And specialty classes to match your individual needs, such as yoga for back pain, injuries, core strength. Private Meditation Classes - in our dedicated yoga studio, 33 Clarence Street. Learn awareness, breathing and relaxation techniques you can use in daily life to help you become calmer, more centered, and less reactive. Yoga Therapy - in our dedicated yoga studio, 33 Clarence Street. working gently with practices to help alleviate chronic conditions such as anxiety, insomnia and breathing issues; and to assist in regaining strength, confidence and integration after illnesses. Meditation 1 - in our dedicated yoga studio, 33 Clarence Street. A new 7 week course: usually 10 weeks but there are two public holidays this school term effecting Mondays and due to covid lock down in place on 15th, now starting on Monday 22 Feb 2021; 7:15 pm - 8:15 pm Bookings essential... you can start any time if there is still a space. In this class you learn awareness, breathing and relaxation techniques you can use in daily life to help you become calmer, more centered, and less reactive. The classes start off with a lot of lying on the floor and gradually you learn to sit for longer periods of time with comfort and stability (please note that Meditation 1 is an introduction to meditation, and is a pre-requisite to Meditation 2) . Meditation 2 - in our dedicated yoga studio, 33 Clarence Street. (for those who have completed Meditation 1 and who are serious about letting go of the states of mind that create disharmony, sadness and depression) In this course you are guided towards being aware of more subtle sensations in the body including the energy pathways (nadis) and energy centers (chakras).
